The Village Fête

Datchworth held its annual Village fête on 13^th June 2009.

It's a traditional village activity drawing the community together and raising money. Organized and run by local people, it includes games, events, entertainments and stalls. The profits go to local charities.

The weather was fine and hundreds came along and had a great time. The total taking on the day came to over £12000.

New Calendar

Following our new look, we've now added a Village Calendar to the site. Find it on the main menu on the left, and allow it a few seconds to load.

It's actually an amalgam of fifteen separate calendars, and on it you can find the times and dates of upcoming local activities including the Bowls Club, All Saints' Church, the Church Hall, Cricket, Rugby, the School, the Sports Club, Tennis, the Green, the Village Hall, Welwyn Team Churches and dates of public holidays.

Try clicking on the various items on the calendar for more information. Experiment with it, there are loads of features.

The calendar content was initially based on what's already in the public domain and needs to be checked, then regularly updated.

If you'd like to comment or contribute just use the "Contact us" link on the left and either send details, or give your phone number and ask us to call you.

If you'd like to run a calendar or to enter events in the calendar that includes your organisation, get back to us the same way.

Datchworth web group is keen to help organisations contribute to what is potentially a great resource for the village that will make it easy to find out what's on when and where, and so help minimise clashes when planning events. We'll need a calendar-master for each organisation as soon as possible.
